Frequently asked questions about cosmetic tools and accessories.
Brushes made from natural hair may produce an odour particular to natural hair when you first start using them. Don’t worry, as this odour will disappear over time.
Items made out of polyurethane such as sponges or eyeliner applicator tips will deteriorate gradually from friction, sunlight or how they are washed.
Of course replace your sponge if it is weak and falling apart, but it’s better at the stage when the surface is powdery, or it starts to loose its elasticity.
Carefully wash the dirt from your sponges and applicator tips to make them last. When washing, press lightly into some neutral detergent, then rinse thoroughly and dry in the shade (not direct sunlight).
Use a custom cleansing liquid if available.
If you want to make your make-up look its best, always make sure your bits and pieces are kept clean.
Despite your best efforts, it will be difficult to apply toner evenly to all the nooks and crannies of your face. Use a cotton pad to thoroughly and evenly coat your skin in toner, and enable maximum penetration.
When using a cotton pad, don’t use too much product, and don’t use a scrubbing motion on your skin.
If you want to really give your skin a good soaking, we recommend using a sheet mask.

Products with an alcoholic concentration of 24% or less can be transported by air without the need for the concentration to be displayed. If sending by Japan Post’s domestic parcel service (“Yu-Pack”), display the type of beauty product (toner, moisturiser cream, soap, etc.) clearly on the product name section of the label. The term “beauty product” includes products such as nail polish and nail polish remover, which cannot be transported, so if “beauty product” written on the label your package will not be sent.
Fragrances such as perfume and cologne are extremely delicate products, as the fragrance components are dissolved in alcohol. The amount of alcohol decreases with every use, so usually the product colour will get deeper, and the fragrance will also get richer as it ages.
If you are not bothered by the change in the fragrance, then you should use the product.
If you want to enjoy the original fragrance as long as possible, replace the cap firmly after use, and store the bottle at room temperature away from direct sunlight in a location with a constant temperature. We recommend you aim to use a perfume within 1 year of opening it.
The impression of a fragrance may change from directly after opening to just before finishing the bottle, even if it’s the same fragrance.
This is because as you use your perfume, the alcohol is volatilised little by little, and is gradually used up. In addition, the fragrance in an almost-used-up bottle will have aged, so the colour and fragrance will be slightly richer.
If you want to enjoy the original fragrance as long as possible, replace the cap firmly after use, and store the bottle at room temperature away from direct sunlight in a location with a constant temperature.
The way you sense a fragrance will also change depending on the season and climate, and where you are at in your body and mind.
Fragrances and colognes contain a much higher concentration of fragrance components than regular beauty products, in abundant variation.
Depending on the type of perfume ingredients and the constitution, skin type, etc. of the wearer, putting on fragrance or cologne then spending a long period of time in direct sunlight may mean UV rays irritate the skin, make it itchy or cause blemishes.
When going outdoors during the day, make sure to apply your perfume or cologne to a part of your body that will not be exposed to direct sunlight.
In addition, if you have weak skin, do not apply perfume or cologne directly to your skin. Instead, apply it to your lingerie or the inside seam of your skirt.
If doing this, be sure to avoid white clothing as not to cause a stain, and do a patch test first.
Your beauty products will expand inside the container in hot temperatures, which can cause the container to distort or rupture.
If your beauty product has been kept at an extremely high temperature at length, the product may separate, and the fragrance or colour may change.
Some aerosol products contain flammable gas at high pressures, and require particular caution. Exercise caution with beauty products containing a high concentration of alcohol such as hair tonic, nail polish, perfume and toner, as these will expand easily.
